UPDATE #4: By popular vote, we will now be meeting
SATURDAY, the 26th!...and because the one dude who reeeaaallly wanted it on Friday has changed his mind and would prefer Saturday now (j/k *47ness
)
Time: I say we start around 1pm or so. I'll likely be there for several hours, so if you need to come later that's totally fine!
Location: At the Yes Plaza in Rowland Heights, in the food court area (which looks like this!
[link])
--The address for the Plaza is: 1715 Fullerton Road, Rowland Heights, CA 91745
--There are tons of different places to go/look at in and around the Plaza. Diamond Plaza is also close by.
NOTE ME if you think you might get lost and I will give you my cell #!

UPDATE #3: Don't forget, the meetup is THIS WEEK, on Friday the 25th.
HOWEVER, several people have mentioned that they would rather do the meetup on Saturday, the 26th. This is totally fine by me if we want to postpone until Saturday at the same time and place so that y'all don't have to contend with work or school. What do you think? Leave a comment or note me saying if you'd prefer Friday or Saturday, otherwise we'll just do Friday.
Can't wait to see you guys!

UPDATE #2: It has been decided!
The 3rd Annual

Meet & Greet shall be...
...the same place it was last year, cuz it was awesome!
Date: Friday, May 25th
Time: I say we start around 1pm or so. I'll likely be there for several hours, so if you need to come later that's totally fine!
Location: At the Yes Plaza in Rowland Heights, in the food court area (which looks like this!

--There are tons of different places to go/look at in and around the Plaza. Diamond Plaza is also close by.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US, leave a comment here so that I can get a list going! And let me know if you have any questions! If you're afraid of getting lost on the way, send me a note and we can exchange cellphone numbers.
Woooo! I can't wait to see you guys again! And hopefully there will be tons of new faces! Don't forget your sketchbooks!

UPDATE: Okay, sorry for the late update!

SO! It sounds like a Friday evening or late afternoon will work for us this year. It also seems like Rowland Heights might be a good idea to do again, since there was tons of room for us to gather 'round and bond, as well as good food to be had and cool shops to look at. Food Court in Yes Plaza, anyone? How does that sound?
I want to try and finalize a date ASAP, so let me know what you think!
---------------------------------------------------------------
It's gettin' to be around that time again, folks! AX is just around the corner and we have yet to meet up before the pre-con panic sets in! Yikes!
As in previous years, the when/where is totally open to suggestion! Any time between May 1st and mid-June seem optimum dates.
For those of you newer to the club, the past few meet ups were both fun and very informative for newer artists to AX! We galavanted around Los Angeles' Little Tokyo in 2010, got some amazing food, and ended up hanging out for hours and having an impromptu sketch jam. We met, mingled, networked, planned AA tables, molested each other's sketchbooks (in a good way!), and generally just had a great time. We had two similar get together's in 2011, visiting the Yes Plaza in Rowland Heights and Mitsuwa (check out our other accounts of our awesome Meet & Greets in our past journals. You know you're dying to join us!).
But where, oh where, shall we go
this year?!
Have any ideas you'd like to share? Here's the breakdown of things to consider:
Location: Somewhere not horrendously far from LA/Orange/San Bernardino county areas, as this seems to be where most of us reside.
Time: The best span of time will likely be early May through mid June, likely on a weekend or Friday evening for those of us with school or work to contend with.
Place: Preferably somewhere with food! Nothing helps a group of strangers bond better than some good ol' noms. It would have to be big enough to seat many people for chatting, drawing, and eating purposes.
If any other promising places come to you, please share your thoughts!Looking forward to seeing some of you again and hopefully seeing some new faces,
~Mel/Sevlow/Childofpuck/Whatever...
